Can kids run the War Eagle Trail races?

We love to see kids out on the trails and fully support their participation. Contact us at wareagletrailraces@gmail.com if your kiddo is under 14 so we can cover some things.

Can I camp the night before?

Yes. Park Ranger Fred offers his property near the start line for camping overnight on Friday for $10 per vehicle. Email us at wareagletrailraces@gmail.com if you want to claim a spot. It's primitive. No water or electricity but there will be fresh portapots there.

What charities do race entries go towards?

Friends of Hobbs State Park and the Rogers Community Development Fund to assist with the Rogers Lions Club Scholarship program.

Are there aid stations?

Here are some basics you can expect on race day.

There are 3 official aid stations along the courses that each distance will pass at various times. Two of them are located on Townsends Ridge Rd. (dirt road) with one at each of the Little Clifty trail crossings. One close to the south end where the big trail head parking lot is located (Mustache Running Club + Ozark Trail Runners) and the other just off Hwy 12 on the north end of the road (Shnutt Hut aka Renfro's Rest). For spectators, they are welcome to cheer you on at aid stations but please note that Townsends Ridge Rd will be closed on race day between the two aid stations as this is part of the 10k course. So getting from one aid station to the next will require using Piney Rd. The third official aid station is located at the Piney Rd (paved) trail head (We need a name for this group). For 50k runners, there will be an "unofficial" aid station (marked with the * below) located where Bashore Ridge and Dutton Hollow intersect. Y'all will pass this station 3 times in the 7 miles on the Bunny Ears. We have some very "special" guest volunteers that are ready to help y'all out there this year.

All of the usual fare will be there: cold water, ice, Gatorade, salty and sweet snacks, some fruit, and you can expect some "extras" from our amazing volunteers. Remember to give them some love as you go through.

10k runners will pass aid stations at approximately miles 3 and 5.

25k runners get aid stations at approximately miles 6, 9 and 12.

50k runners, you will see them at about miles 6, 9, 16*, 20, 23 and 29.

Can I drop a bag?

Our event is a little unique in that you run from one location to another. All races start on the historic War Eagle Bridge and end at the Hobbs State Park Visitors Center. We can transfer a drop bag with finish line items for you to the Visitors Center. In addition, 25 and 50k runners can bring a drop bag for use during the race. These will be taken to the Piney Rd aid station for you. Those runners will pass Piney Rd at miles 9, 16 and 26. These drop bags will be taken to the finish line after the Piney Rd aid station closes at about 1:30PM. You can retrieve your bag from there before then if necessary. Just bring your drop bag and make sure to place it in the correct pile: Finish Line or Piney Rd aid station.

How do I get back to my car after the race?

We will provide shuttle service beginning at 9:00AM through the end of the race.

Do the races sell out?

Yes. Once we hit capacity for that distance, no more registrations will be accepted. There is no late registration and no wait list.
